The Front Garden from December 2010

A frosty December morning before work begins

We had heavy snow a week after this image was taken

One of my predecessors had decided to use yellow plastic bin bags under wood chippings to surpress the weeds - The bags have now been removed :)
Another flower bed overgrown by grass

The same bed with recovery nearly complete

One of my biggest headaches .... a pile of hardcore had been dumped on the lawn, I removed most of it, levelled and edged it with blocks

We hope to develop a rockery with alpine plants

The main lawn flower bed freshly planted with marigolds, geraniums and lobelia

African marigolds planted in the path borders

Cordyline ringed with decorative stone in the foreground

Clearing the bracken throughout the garden is a continuous job

The two small saplings here were fruit trees but both have died, they will be replaced

An exceptionally dry spring has left the lawns looking brown (2011)

You can see an original flower bed to the right of this picture - it's too close to the fence to be re-instated so it will probably be re-seeded with grass in the autumn
The freshly dug borders from the front door - the gazebo is in the background with the dumped blocks - I removed them all so the gazebo could be used as intended
